o'er the rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

  4. I love that song. My son was given a book shop voucher for his birthday some years ago, and spent it on what I thought was a rather silly toy, so I let him know my thoughts on the matter, then he told me that all he really wanted to buy was this...as he pulled out a little wind up tune player (I can't think what they are called) I couldn't speak for a few minutes I was so choked up, he bought it because it played my favourite song....Thankyou

  6. It's wonderful to hear all these lovely comments, dear readers. I used to sing the rainbow song to my son when he was 'littler', but I always used to forget the words, and ended up making up our own little version.

nerines - thank you for sharing that story, it bought a tear to my eye...little moments like these are just as important as the big ones.
