my creative space - alfresco sewing

In a vain attempt to get my sewing mojo back, I moved outside.  It worked for a while, then that night it started to rain, and so I bought my jolly janome back inside, and haven't done anything since.
After a whirlwind of activity last week, since huz's accident, and our little girl currently waking up at 5.30am, (note to self: never give anyone sleeping advice, it backfires!)  it has sucked the sewing life force right out of me.
Hope it comes back soon, I have a market in 3 weeks!

  1. I think it's best to never speak of sleeping children...they like to make a liar of you. x

I love the al fresco machine, drag it back outside it looks lovely out there.

  4. Perhaps a jaunt to a thrift shop would be just the thing to get your mojo back? :)

  6. My littlest one was up at 5.45 this morning. Bit jolly early that's for sure. It's really rude when children do that sort of thing isn't it? I think that's when I get my best sleep. The worst start to the day is when I'm greated with 'I've done a stinky!' Hmmmm.

So did you actually take your sewing machine outside and were sewing at night?! Can't say I've done that before. Do you find any inspiration out there? I'd probably just get bitten by mossies.

  7. Thanks for your kind comments, some of that spirit hopefully to return soon!

Sarah, I had my machine out all day underneath the pergola, we have had just the most lovely spell of perfect weather, and I had just intended to leave it outside, and return to it the next day - I thought maybe it would be it's new home for a while...then after about 2 weeks of no rain....well you guessed it...the skies opened, it was too damp outside, so I bought her in!
    Very happy for the garden!

  9. Oh gorgeous green, seeing lots around lately, love it!! Sending you sewing vibes. Won't comment on sleeping, my 4 children all slept like logs, just like daddy, they can switch off & relax. They all breastfed into hibernation too, from 3 weeks of age (even twins), soooo lucky & they've never changed!! Love Posie

  11. Oh, I do hope it all comes together soon - it really would be very odd if you were full of inspiration after the week you've just had, though...

  12. I agree with Floss. What a time you've had and on top of that had early mornings. There's nothing like a market to get you back to the machine though. I'm sure it'll happen soon. Hope things have improved with hubby. Cathy x

  13. Oh that beautiful green :) I'm sure you'll slip back into it soon. Maybe it's just your mind telling you to have a rest, deal with other issues and come back re-energised when you're ready for it? I know whenever I try and force creativity it always backfires on me. Have a break - it sounds like you deserve it :) K
